These are our natural log grown shiitakes, dried and ready for simmering for a delicious soup stock! After simmering these can be strained for a clear stock or blended up and used for a thicker soup base.

Sample Recipe for Stock

3 oz dried shiitake

3-4 medium carrots

3 stalks celery

1-2 medium onions

4-6 cloves garlic

8 cups water

1 tsp salt

Coarsely chop all veggies and add to a good sized pot with water. Bring to a slow boil. Simmer partially covered for 60 -75 minutes.

Blend all ingredients for a delicious thick soup base or strain depending on what type of soup you are making.

You may also add fresh or dried herbs and spices or other vegetables of your choice. Enjoy!
